I too was at the Turkey Day 8K on Thursday and it was only my second jog/walk event....the first being the 12K's of Christmas the Saturday before...and this was my longest walking distance to date. I just started walking for exercise in October. I will be using your blog for inspiration....I would LOVE to start running. I finished Thursday's 8K walk in 1:12:55....and there were a couple of hills I could have done without!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02355165188079141933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625996242104684219.post-9521995415299038842010-11-27T14:29:19.651-06:002010-11-27T14:29:19.651-06:00Hey, Betty. I was there, too, and finished about two minutes ahead of you so I'm not much faster! I am also doing St. Jude next week. Hope to beat 3 hours but I probably won't. I think 3:03 is my best time. I've also been running for just under two years. I do 30 second walk/run intervals but should probably increase to 1 minute run/30 second walk. Like you, I also HATE hills. Yes, Renaissance was HOT. It was even HOTTER in 2009. I'm so glad they moved it to April. Hope to run across you sometime. We would be about on the same pace.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625996242104684219.post-10353192161237744982010-11-25T21:29:07.744-06:002010-11-25T21:29:07.744-06:00Sooo proud of you Betty!!
